Story Telling from African Grand mothers
On Saturday, 24 February 2024 the African Language Academy Australia (ALAA) Proceeded with the shooting of its project, “GRANDMA’S HANDS”
The grandma’s Hands project is the African story telling by African grand mothers or Seniors. Maman Antoinette represented the Congolese Community of WA, among other African seniors from Nigeria, Somalia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia in the storytelling program to showcase the values of the African cultures and traditions and how their rich life experiences have impacted and influenced their lives in Australia.
This program aligns with one of the Congolese Community of WA four (4) strategic goals, Enhance Awareness with the objectives to:
- Promote Community Engagement
- Partnerships and Networking with other communities and organisations
- Increase bridging knowledge and experience sharing with other organisations.
- Preserve and perpetuate our legacy.
